I have always said that Robin Bain did not do it and I will
always believe that.
Look at the facts and it is quite clear that the chances that
Robin committed the crime are incredibly slim to none.
The saddest thing in all of this is a dead mans character was
destroyed on the basis of unsubstantiated hearsay and also
the fact that 5 people will never have justice for their
deaths. [Abridged]

The programme did not change my mind. I always thought the
defence case was beyond belief.
Why would a person leave the silencer on a rifle which made
it longer so he had to manoeuvre himself into the most
awkward position to kill himself? Why would he take care not
to leave fingerprints? And so on and on.
The defence case was a series of "could haves".
He could have been depressed. The family could have been
gathering so Laniet could have spoken about incest that could
have occurred - like the birth of her black or white
baby/babies. She could have told the truth, though her record
indicated she had an inventive nature.
The program went into other details, some of which I had
forgotten, regarding the presence and absence of blood stains
in various places, and it did not mention Robin Bain's full
bladder which always seemed to me a clincher, because if he
were the killer he was working to his own timetable and had
time to stop for a wee.
It confirmed my original opinion, which has only been further
strengthened in the years since the first trial.
