Dunedin would benefit from another couple hundred thousand
people. This should be discussed at a national level as it is
bigger than Dunedin. Fair room needs to be made for any
migrants. Senior DCC people and councillors will need to move
over for better skilled people from a bigger population base.
Dunedin is a fantastic city in a great spot and it would be
wonderful to see its culture expanding. Its tragic what has
happened in Christchurch and we should keep an open door for
Cantabs with no obligations. [Abridged]

Dunedin should by all means be pushing to be attractive as a
place to invest, buy property or work for the families and
people fleeing the Canterbury region. Although some may see
it in a bad light someone must benefit from this terrible
situation, be it from population growth, new businesses
entering the Dunedin marketplace or just general economic
growth.
Dunedin has a brilliant opportunity to become the new
dominant southern city, as it once was in the past, and i
dont think we should pass this opportunity by for fear of bad
publicity. This could be the future of our city.
