I disagree.
While they must be fairly clean, they're just like the rest of us.
Being 'squeaky clean' is an exaggeration, they need to be honest and trustworthy. This doesn't necessarily mean squeaky clean.

Politicians must be squeaky clean in their personal life. As public figures they are clearly open to scrutiny.

We do not yet know what - if anything - illegal Dr Worth may have done. However, an act may be lawful but still unacceptable.
