Dunedin ballerinas Elise Nind (11, left) and Anastasia Smith (9) check their costumes yesterday for Giselle at the Regent Theatre this weekend.
The two young stars, from the Bennett School of Ballet and Jazz, were chosen to perform in the final Royal New Zealand Ballet production of the year.
It will be the first time either girl has appeared in a major ballet.
"I'm excited, but also kind of nervous," Elise said.
Prima ballerina Gillian Murphy will make her Dunedin debut with Qi Huan in the lead roles tonight. Antonia Hewitt will team up with veteran Royal Danish Ballet principal Andrew Bowman in the matinee leads tomorrow.
