Luggate residents are being asked to boil their water until
further notice, following routine testing of the Luggate
water supply identified a low level presence of e-coli on
Christmas Day.
The supply was immediately treated with chlorine and the
community issued with a boil water notice, Queenstown Lakes
District Council communications manager Meaghan Miller said
yesterday.
Although the supply has now been treated, the precautionary
boil water notice will remain in place until further test
results have been confirmed.
The notice is expected to be in place for a minimum of three
days.
Further updates can be obtained by phoning the council or on
the website www.qldc.govt.nz.
Council offices reopen in Wanaka and Queenstown on January 5.
