Man's body found near Luggate quarry

The death of a 38-year-old Cromwell man has been referred to the coroner, after a search team found his body near a Luggate quarry yesterday afternoon.

Senior Sergeant Allan Grindell said the man had been reported missing about 11.30am yesterday.

A search team of jet-boat operators, Wanaka LandSar volunteers and police concentrated on land and river downstream from the Clutha River red bridge.

The death was not considered suspicious, Snr Sgt Grindell said.
