Woman rescued from burning vehicle

An elderly disabled woman was rescued from a burning vehicle in Roxburgh this week, seconds before the vehicle filled up with toxic smoke, Roxburgh's deputy chief fire officer, David Welsh, said.

A young man walking his son home from school on Monday noticed smoke coming from the vehicle in Scotland St and pulled the woman out.

"Another 20 or 30 seconds later, and it could've been a disaster,' Mr Welsh said.

The vehicle was gutted.
