Two male motorcyclists are confirmed dead - and two young
women are seriously injured - after a crash on the Lindis
Pass this afternoon.
Both the injured women are aged 20.
One has been flown to Dunedin Hospital by helicopter and the
other taken to the Cromwell Medical Centre by ambulance, an
ambulance spokeswoman said.
Police said the crash on State Highway 8 involved two
motorcycles and a car.
Emergency services were called to the scene at Goodger Road,
about 20 km north of Tarras, at 2.15pm.
Serious crash investigators are investigating the cause of
the collision.
State Highway 8 was closed but a single lane was opened about
5pm.
Police say motorists can expect delays and are requested to
be patient.
