Teen injured in Naseby fall

A 13-year-old boy was airlifted to Dunedin Hospital after breaking a leg when hefell about 7m into a gully near Larch Ave, Naseby, yesterday afternoon.

A fire appliance from Naseby was sent to the scene shortly after 2pm, and the Ranfurly Volunteer Fire Brigade was also initially alerted to bring a Stokes rescue basket, but the extra help was not required, a Fire Service spokesman said.

The Otago Regional Rescue Helicopter was called in at 2.30pm.

The boy was treated by a paramedic from the helicopter, before being flown to Dunedin, St John staff said.
