TWO elderly Ranfurly residents who escaped a house fire late last night were being checked by St John as a precaution, a Fire Service spokesman said.
The Bute St house was ‘‘fully involved'' when the Ranfurly fire appliance arrived at 10.39pm.
The pair had already left the house when firefighters arrived.
The fire was being treated as suspicious.
An appliance from Naseby also attended.
