A man is in Dunstan Hospital with head injuries after an alleged serious assault in Cromwell this morning, police say.
Sergeant Bruce Terry, of Cromwell, said people arrived at the Waenga Dr home about 6am and allegedly assaulted a man living there.
Police were urging anyone with information to call the Cromwell Police Station.
No arrests had yet been made, but the investigation was continuing.
