An ice-cream eating competition will be a novel addition to the annual Port FM midwinter swim at Oamaru Harbour on Sunday.
Teams of two will participate in the competition, with one person standing behind the other and acting as their hands, feeding them ice-cream.
The competition will be held at Friendly Bay at 11am, followed by the midwinter swim, with prizes for best-dressed, youngest and oldest swimmers, the first in the water and last out.
Soup and coffee will be available from the Oamaru Rowing Club.
