A truck driver (35) charged with careless driving causing the death of young dairy farm worker Tom Fry, at Richmond, in May, will appear in the Oamaru District Court on July 21.
The Timaru man has also been charged with attempting to obstruct the course of justice by lying about the cause of damage to his truck and lying about whether or not he drove through the intersection of York St and State Highway 1 on May 13; failing to render assistance having been the driver of a vehicle involved in an accident where a person was killed; and failing to report an accident.
He was to appear today but has been granted an adjournment.
