Friends of the Forrester have arranged a special concert to
help raise funds for the projected $3.8 million redevelopment
of the Forrester Gallery in Oamaru.
The group supports the redevelopment and has now arranged for
two of New Zealand's accomplished classical musicians,
pianist Maurice Till and violinist Martin Riseley, to give a
recital at the gallery on Monday, September 6.
The recital will feature works by Mozart, Faure, Saint-Saens
and popular shorter pieces by Kreisler, Wieniawski and
Heifetz.
Friends of the Forrester chairman Bruce Albiston was
delighted Friends was able to host musicians of such a high
calibre at the gallery.
The recital will begin at 7.30pm and tickets are available
from the gallery, with a limited number of door sales.
