Waitaki mayoral and council candidates have been called to
another public meeting - this time a joint venture between
North Otago Grey Power and the North Otago Ratepayers'
Association.
The meeting on Saturday, September 18 at 1.30pm, in the Union
Parish Hall, will give people the chanceto hear from those
standing for the Waitaki mayoralty and the 18 hopefuls for
the six positions as Oamaru ward councillors on the Waitaki
District Council.
They will be given five minutes each to speak and then face
questions.
Both groups organising the meeting said it would give voters
the chance to find out what each candidate had as their main
agenda, or hoped to achieve with ratepayers' dollars.
Federated Farmers has also organised a meeting for mayoral
candidates and the five candidates for the two councillors in
the Corriedale ward at the Five Forks Hall on Wednesday,
starting at 7.30pm.
