A 19-year-old man has been arrested after a woman was stabbed
in the face and the police armed offenders squad called to
Temuka, South Canterbury this morning.
Police were called to a house in Whitcombe Street just prior
to midday after reports of an assault, police said in a
statement this afternoon.
Following negotiations the man agreed to come out of the
house and surrendered to police.
He was taken into custody and is expected to face charges
relating to the incident.
A woman was treated at the scene for stab wounds to the face.
Her injuries were not described as serious.
