Oamaru wine and food festival co-ordinator Jo Sutherland shows off the recyclable polymer glasses that will be on sale at the festival tomorrow.

Tickets have been selling strongly for the festival at the Oamaru Public Gardens. Organisers have sold almost all the 2000 pre-sale tickets, with a limit of 3000 allowed at the festival.

Hollie Smith, who has opened for acts including Bob Dylan, Coldplay and Simply Red, is the headline act. Other entertainment includes the 18-piece Dunedin City Jazz Orchestra and several other bands.

Ms Sutherland said there would be 51 stalls, including 13 run by wineries, with a good mix of food and beverages.

Alcohol could not be brought into the grounds, as it was a licensed premises, and glass was also banned. Recyclable polymer glasses would be available for sale.

Bevan Smith, from Riverstone Kitchen, Michael Coughlin, from St Clair Beach Resort, and Aoraki Polytechnic-trained Steve Le Corre will give cooking demonstrations.

Gates open at 11am and the festival finishes at 6.30pm.
