Omarama may have a liquor ban again this Christmas after a
trial last year reduced disorderly behaviour in the town.
The liquor ban on streets and public areas in the town would
start at 9pm on December 25 and finish at 6am on January 3,
if approved by the Waitaki District Council.
Waitaki community safety officer Helen Algar said the period
of the ban also covered the day of the Omarama Rodeo and was
consistent with last year.
