Entries for the Oamerican Car Show, which takes place on
February 7, are already being received from enthusiasts from
as far away as parts of the North Island.
Event organiser Jayne Jackson said the event had now gained a
principal sponsor. She added that she had already sent out
200 entry forms for the event, which was being promoted
throughout New Zealand.
''I have received a number of entries to date including a few
from the North Island and lots and lots of inquiries, but
would really encourage people wanting to take part to get
their entries in so that we can confirm catering arrangements
and activities.''
The four-day car show will take place in the second week of
February, a week which promises to be a ''very busy one'' for
the town, Ms Jackson said.
''In addition to the Oamerican Car Show, there's Waitangi
Day, Scott 100 commemoration events and the Highlanders
versus Crusaders pre-season rugby and concert,'' she said.
