A new exhibition of photographs depicting streets in Kurow
from 100 years ago, now on display at the Kurow Museum and
Information Centre, will soon be better protected after the
museum was awarded a $5000 grant to replace its leaky roof.
Trust Aoraki awarded the grant to the museum last week, and
museum and information centre manager Carron Cossens said
receiving the grant was ''a wonderful Christmas present''.
Ms Cossens said builders from Mudrock Construction had been
repairing the roof free of charge but it needed to be
replaced.
''It is aged and leaks, but local workers have been amazing
in helping to repair it.''
She said now the grant was in place, after the final Masonic
Lodge charity golf tournament fundraiser was complete on
January 13, work to replace the roof should be able to start
in February.
