Help with fee

45 South is on the air.

The Oamaru TV station has been granted a 20-year licence.

45 South chairman Mike Edwards said the station was able to afford the licence due to grants from two local organisations.

Grants of $5976 from the Lion Foundation and $1150 from Network Waitaki meant the station could afford the $8022 licence fee.

The remainder of the fee was covered by the station, Mr Edwards said.

The station's volunteers were ''ecstatic'' about the grants as finances were tight, he said.
