Stab wound from domestic incident

An Oamaru man has been treated for a stab wound after a domestic incident.

The 64-year-old man rang police from Oamaru Hospital yesterday morning after he drove himself there with a stab wound to his chest, Detective Sergeant Brett Roberts, of Dunedin, said.

The wound was not life-threatening and happened after a domestic incident about 8am.

Dunedin and Oamaru CIB investigated and found the scene of the incident, near Oamaru, he said.

The investigation was ongoing and it had not been decided if charges would be laid.
