This is the sixth trail ride to raise funds for Waitaki Rural Fire and this year between $12,000 and $15,000 is expected to be available to buy specialist equipment such as night lights and helmets.
This year, 340 registered for the event, from as far away as Invercargill, the West Coast and Christchurch.
