Two new trust members

Two new members have been elected to the Oamaru Whitestone Civic Trust board, but one appointed last year missed out.

Jane Campbell (114 votes) and Sally-Ann Donnelly (108) were elected to fill the two vacancies while trustee Richard Vinbrux (88), who was appointed to fill the vacancy left when Allan Dick resigned last year, missed out.

The trust recorded an overall deficit of $9839 for its financial year to the end of December 2014 compared with a $268,674 surplus in 2013.

It had an operating profit of $29,846, compared with $288,534 in 2013, but depreciation of almost $40,000 resulted in the net deficit.

Income last year was $413,040 ($649,947 in 2013), while expenses were $383,194 ($361,534).

On the income side, grants were only $29,222, compared with $203,909, and rent was $233,504 ($276,590).

An earthquake structural report, released at its annual meeting on Wednesday night, has rated the trust's 13 buildings above the 34% minimum in the national building standards.
