Woman faces charges after AOS callout

A 26-year-old woman faces charges after the Armed Offenders Squad was called out to Georgetown, inland from Oamaru, last night.

The AOS response was prompted by reports a weapon was involved, in what was described as a domestic dispute, Senior Sergeant Ben Butterfield said last night.

Police this morning would not confirm whether a weapon was involved, but said a woman had been arrested and charged with threatening to kill.

She would appear in the Timaru District Court today.
