Police are appealing for witnesses after a 21-year-old Oamaru woman was allegedly accosted by an elderly man in Teviot St on Friday night.
Acting Sergeant Carl Pedersen said the man, driving a silver vehicle, pulled over beside the woman in Teviot St ''as if he was looking for somebody'' about 5.15pm.
The man grabbed the woman's wrist with enough strength and aggression to cause her concern, Act Sgt Pedersen said.
After a verbal exchange, the elderly man drove away and the woman contacted police.
