A parade of vintage farm machinery through Palmerston on
Saturday comprised about 50 machines.
Tractors, harvesters, balers, veteran trucks and cars were
all represented. The parade was led by Palmerston farmer and
East Otago Vintage machinery club member Noel Sheat.
The club's working weekend is held every second year at
Easter, and support for the weekend from vintage machinery
enthusiasts was very good, Mr Sheat said. The weekend began
with a tractor trek on Friday and an open day at the club's
display building and workshops at Mill domain, Palmerston.
It concluded with a vintage threshing and harvesting
equipment demonstration on a Bushey farm near Palmerston on
Saturday.
