Crafty Beer owner Tom Jones, known as ‘‘Tom the Pom'', will take his ‘‘Crafty Beers'' and his wife's gourmet pies and serve them for all to enjoy.
Mr Jones has been attending the event from its inception at the Arrowtown Autumn Festival in 2012.
He has been involved in the brewing industry since the 1980s. When he moved to New Zealand from England, he started working with Richard Emerson, the founder of Emerson's brewery.
‘‘He was a very infectious character,'' Mr Jones said.
After this, Mr Jones founded Green Man brewery in Dunedin, before leaving in 2010.
His new brand of beer, Crafty Beers, comes in two varieties and is brewed in Upper Hutt.
One, the manuka smoked pale ale, won a gold medal at the Brewer's Guild of New Zealand Awards in 2014.
Mr Jones said he enjoyed the integrity of the flavour craft beer had.
‘‘You can put so much more into craft beer than a mainstream beer.''
He would like to see it brewed in Tapanui, where he lives, but said it was not commercially viable to do so.
‘‘Tapanui is almost in the middle of nowhere, but it's essentially in the middle of everywhere.''
It was perfectly situated for access to central Otago, Invercargill and Dunedin, he said.
Mr Jones said marrying a Tapanui girl is what brought him all the way down to the bottom of the South Island.
He was looking forward to seeing people sample his wares at the beer and food festival in Arrowtown.
He will be dishing out the last remaining keg of his manuka smoked ale, Herne Tane, which he had ‘‘run out of''.
‘‘You can have a pub with no beer but it's hard being a brewer with no beer.''
The Pie, Pint and Pinot event is held on April 24 at the Library Green in Arrowtown with entertainment, food, beer and wine available.
