Two of 22 high-priced sections overlooking the Clutha River at Luggate sold when they went on the market for the first time on Saturday.
The Luggate Heights sections were being offered for between $325,000 and $495,000 by Willowridge Developments on a "first come, first served'' basis.
Luggate resident Judy Thompson, who was first on site at 4am, said she was delighted to secure the section she wanted with river views and within "spitting distance'' of a walking track.
Willowridge owner Allan Dippie said construction of services would begin "straight away'', and 42 more affordable sections nearby would also be on the market soon.
