Adventurers Steve Gurney and Steve Moffatt have completed their journey from Aoraki/Mt Cook to the east coast, following in the footsteps of 1890 mountaineers Marmaduke Dixon and George Mannering.
They reached Glenavy yesterday afternoon, having kayaked down the Waitaki River, and then were off home to Christchurch.
The trip was temporarily halted last month after Moffatt suffered frostbitten feet. Moffatt yesterday said his feet were in "good shape".
