An extensive search has failed to turn up any sign of a
Clutha Valley teenager who went missing yesterday afternoon
when he fell into the Clutha River.
Blake Mckenzie Sinclair (18) was with family kneeboarding
behind a boat downstream from Clydevale when he fell into the
river about 3.30pm.
After searchers failed to locate him last night, they resumed
this morning, focusing their attention on both the river and
its banks downstream from the Waitahuna confluence.
A helicopter was brought in to assist with the search, but
police said efforts were hampered by the high level of the
river and the poor visibility as a result of spilling from
the headwaters.
More than 100 people, including numerous volunteers, assisted
with the search today.
Police said they would continue the search tomorrow
