Possible buyer for Kaka Point cafe

There is a prospective buyer for a well-known spot on the waterfront at Kaka Point.

There was interest in The Point Cafe and Bar, Ian Mathieson, of Harcourts, said.

The business had been on the market for two months before a brutal home invasion left one of its owners, Pam Paterson, badly injured. It was taken off the market briefly as Mrs Paterson began her recovery.

Zane Tiatoa Currie (19), of Kaka Point, and Daniel Tipene Te Moananui (34), of Inch Clutha, were jailed for the attack. The Point has been back on the market for several months.

Mrs Paterson's husband, Paddy Paterson, declined to speak with the Otago Daily Times.
