Tuck's Pantry was closed yesterday as crews started transforming Tapanui's Northumberland St for the feature film Pete's Dragon.

Filming the Walt Disney Studio's remake starring Robert Redford and featuring computer graphics by Peter Jackson's Stone Street Studios began in Wellington at the end of January before shifting to Rotorua for five weeks.

Tapanui is expected to host the 250 cast and crew for two or three weeks next month before filming wraps up with a week in Invercargill.
