Police are searching for a man after an assault on an Invercargill woman.
Police were called to a Dee St address after a woman was assaulted in her home about 11am yesterday, Detective Senior Sergeant Mike Bowman, of Invercargill, said.
A police forensic team, as well as ESR specialists, carried out a scene examination at the address.
The alleged assailant was a European male, about 175cm tall, wearing light blue jeans and green Swanndri, and possibly with a ''pot belly appearance'', Det Snr Sgt Bowman said.
Police want to hear from anyone who might have seen someone fitting that description or anything suspicious, including vehicles, in the vicinity of Avenal and Dee Sts between 10am and noon yesterday.
