Amy Morrison (left, 22), of Inch Clutha, Clutha Mayor Bryan Cadogan, and Nikeisha Clarke (19), of Owaka, meet at the Clutha District Council offices yesterday before the young Clutha pair leave for the Aspiring Leaders' Forum/Te Wananga Rangatira Tumanako in Wellington at the beginning of July.

The three-day forum, flights and accommodation were funded by the Mayors Taskforce for Jobs and the Otago Community Trust.

Mr Cadogan said both Ms Morrison and Ms Clarke had proven leadership abilities.

''They've both got a strong background in giving to our community, so it's good to give something back.''

The forum would be hosted in part by members of Parliament, but would focus on community, arts, and sports, as well as covering the political arena.

Delegates must be aged between 18 and 26 and must be nominated to attend.

Ms Morrison is a Clutha District Youth councillor and Ms Clark, a former youth councillor, is studying primary education in Dunedin.
