Kristen Miller (left) and St John Clutha area executive officer Rachel Jenkinson stalked the streets of Balclutha on Saturday to promote the Disturbia Halloween Costume Ball, a fundraiser for the emergency service in Balclutha at the end of next month.

The horror-themed event runs for two nights. On Friday, October 30, and Saturday, October 31, horror fans will tour a haunted Balclutha War Memorial Hall basement.

On Saturday night, an R18 Halloween costume ball with a cash bar and Halloween photo booth would allow the adults to party after getting their fright on in the basement, Mrs Jenkinson said.

The terror walk-through, similar to Fear Factory, was initially an R16 attraction, but children as young as 13 would be admitted as long as a parent accompanied them, Mrs Jenkinson said.

A Kids Haunted House on Saturday afternoon would reduce the scary stuff and keep the lights on to allow primary school pupils to have some Halloween fun.
