Two women, child injured in crash

A two-car crash at Lawrence has left three people with minor injuries.

A 2006 Toyota Prius and a 1994 Mitsubishi hatchback collided on State Highway 8 at the eastern end of the town, about 12.45pm yesterday, Senior Constable Robert Wallace, of Lawrence, said.

The driver of the Toyota, a 69-year-old Levin woman, suffered minor injuries, as did her granddaughter (14), of Dunedin.

Two younger grandchildren in the car, a girl (6) and a boy (4), both of Queenstown, were not injured.

The 58-year-old sole occupant of the Mitsubishi, a woman from Lawrence, suffered minor injuries.

All involved were treated at the Lawrence Medical Centre. Police are investigating.
