Crash strands 5 tourists

Five tourists were left stranded on the side of the road in Balclutha after two vehicles collided in Clyde St last night.

Constable Darren Huddleston said a white Nissan and a northbound green Hyundai hatchback collided at the intersection of High St and Clyde St just after 8pm.

The sole occupant of the Hyundai, a 19-year-old Balclutha woman, was unharmed, as were the five tourists in the other vehicle.

The five tourists were left on High St with their possessions.

Both vehicles had to be towed away after the collision.

Const Huddleston said police were investigating the cause of the accident.
