Southland shearers dominant

Former New Zealand representative Nathan Stratford, of Invercargill, dominated the open championship at the West Otago Shears at Tapanui on Saturday.

Another Southlander, Willie Hewitson, won the senior final, beating runner-up Mason Adams, of Lumsden, by almost five points.
