More than $60,000 has been distributed to projects in
Manapouri and Te Anau in the latest funding round of Meridian
Energy's Manapouri Te Anau Community Fund.
The fund was established by the company to support long-term
sustainable community development.
Grants went to: Te Anau Golf Club, $25,000 to help buy new
tractor; Tuatapere Valley Scouts, $1725 to replace scout den
stove and hot-water system; Lakeside Presbyterian Church,
$13,188 for floor coverings; Waiau Star Rugby Club, $4632 to
help buy playing jerseys; Fiordland Search and Rescue
Committee, $11,441 for rescue equipment; Fiordland College
$2391 to support Instrumental Music Tuition project;
Fiordland Kindergarten, $2200 to buy barbecue for Nature
Discovery programme.
