Two seriously injured at Five Rivers

Emergency services are still at the site of a serious crash at Five Rivers in Southland.

Two people were seriously injured in the crash, between a campervan and a car, which occurred at 4.15pm, Senior Sergeant Brian Benn, of Dunedin, said.

Three helicopters had been dispatched to take the scene.

The driver of the Mitsubishi car was trapped in the vehicle for an hour.

Firefighters extinguished a fire in the car.
