A 62-year-old man has died in a single vehicle crash in Southland last night.
The crash occurred around 8.25pm on Heddon Bush Rd, Dunearn.
The 62-year-old man was the only person in the car and died as a result of the crash, Southern District Command Centre Acting Senior Sergeant Jared Kirk said.
Diversions were in place between Hundred Line Rd and State Highway 96 while a scene examination took place.
The Serious Crash Unit attended and an investigation into the cause of the crash was underway.
The name of the deceased would not be released until next of kin were notified, Mr Kirk said.
