A woman was left with a fractured eye socket after a serious assault in Invercargill at the weekend.
Police say the 29-year-old woman was assaulted near the Players nightclub on Tay Street between 3:15am and 3:30am on Sunday.
She sustained significant facial injuries in the attack, including a fractured eye socket, police said in a statement.
The woman was on the ground at the time of the attack.
