Woodlands incident not sinister

Police have located and spoken to the driver of a vehicle they were looking for in relation to possible suspicious activity in the Woodlands area in Invercargill.

The driver came forward after media publication of the incident, police said in a statement yesterday.

It had been established he was helping to shift stock from the roadside and police said they were satisfied there was nothing sinister to it.

A police media spokeswoman said no-one was at fault.

"It was not a false complaint.''

On June 8 a man was reportedly seen running from a bus stop near Woodlands Primary School, where a schoolgirl had been waiting for a bus.

He got into a nearby silver car which has been seen by the girl several times since.
