Body found in search for missing tourists

Searchers looking for two missing Canadian tourists whose campervan was swept over a Haast cliff in a landslide have found a body.

Police believe it to be the body of Joanna Lam, but formal identification has yet to be performed.

Her companion, Connor Hayes, has not been seen.

The body was discovered about 2.30pm on the stretch of beach between Haast and Kniights Point, very close to where the fuel tank from their vehicle was ecovered earlier in the week.

The tourists were last seen alive last Tuesday.
