Waterloo Hotel - Dunedin

The Waterloo Hotel in Dunedin has always been known for affordable, hearty pub meals which hasn't changed but the menu has had an upgrade which has been well received by their customers.

People are more educated about food than ever largely due to the foodie television shows so people expect more on their plate in terms of flavour and appearance and new head Chef Rangi has stepped up and is presenting some good old fashioned hearty food that tastes true but also looks good as well.

Customers of Waterloo Hotel will recommend that you try the blue cod with golden brown chips and side salad which is an iconic dish and a favourite on the dinner menu. If you're older and you're looking for a good lunch with greens then the roast of the day is a must try.

The schnitzel has become very popular with the Waterloo's younger contingent.

If you love something sweet then they have chocolate brownies which come from a family recipe and these fly off the shelves.

Most of their food is locally produced and everything is hand made so you're getting good quality pub style food.

Lunchtime specials:

  • Soup $8
  • Main $10
  • Dessert $7

If you've never eaten at the Waterloo Hotel before then this is a great introduction to what they have to offer.

Come down to Waterloo for lunch or dinner and try out their new menu.
