The Wallabies will win Sunday's Rugby World Cup semifinal
against the All Blacks - if you believe the predictions of a
goal-kicking robot.
The New Zealand-built robot, named Woderwick, was recruited
to predict which team would win the trans-Tasman clash in a
televised gimmick this week on Auckland's Queen Wharf.
It kicked a dozen balls, half dressed as an All Black and the
other half wearing a Wallabies jersey, with the Aussies
coming out on top five to four.
If that result doesn't sit right, you'd be right to have your
suspicions - the gimmick was arranged by Australian network
News Limited.
Woderwick, created by Dr Rory Flemmer at Massey University's
school of engineering and advanced technology in Manawatu,
earlier this week took part in a goal-kicking contest with
former All Black Andrew Mehrtens.
The robot's counterpart, Robo Dan, drew with Mehrtens.
