category in the mini shred competition at The Remarkables
in July.
Mini shredders will be revealing their latest tricks next
weekend during the final of the mini shred season at The
Remarkables.
The first mini shred - open to those under 16 - was held at
The Remarkables in July, and the young snowboarders and
skiers will be back at the beginner terrain park next Sunday
to battle it out again.
The Remarkables Ski Area manager Ross Lawrence said he was
excited about the event.
"This is the chance for the kids to ski and ride with their
buddies in a competition scenario and show how far they've
progressed this season.
"In July, we saw these girls and boys pushing themselves to
their limits.
"This time around we're sure to see them step it up to the
next level in their riding and skiing.
"There is always a great atmosphere . . . The kids are all
supportive of each other, spectators have plenty of action to
watch and there are some great prizes on offer.
"And spring is the perfect time to hang out with mates in the
parks," he said.
There were three categories in the competition - under-16,
under-14 and under-12 - for skiers and snowboarders.
Entry is free, with a $20 refundable bib deposit.
