Caitlin O'Brien (14), of St Hildas Collegiate School,
wins the junior girls event ahead of Sian English (13), of
Columba College, at the secondary schools road race at Logan
Park yesterday.
O'Brien won the 2.5km race in a time of 9min 11sec, with
English second at the same time and Danielle De Gaigney
(Queens High School) third in 9.41.
St Hildas claimed a 1-2-3 finish in the senior girls race,
also held over 2.5km, with Rebekah Greene (8min 45sec) a
comfortable winner ahead of Louise Harvey (9.11) and Sarah
McLaren (9.12).
The third 2.5km race, the junior boys, was won by Toby
Batchelor (John McGlashan College) in 8min 22sec, with
Kavanagh College's Samuel Bremer (8.30) second and John
McGlashan's Joe Beamish (8.37) third.
Well-performed John McGlashan runner Campbell Garry won the
5km senior boys race, finishing in an even 15min ahead of
Kavanagh's Alex Gorrie (15.28) and Kings High School runner
Ben Anderson (16.11).
