Ajax is unbeaten on the court but has slipped to second place in the competition standings after it was forced to forfeit its match with Magic on Tuesday night.
Among the missing were Goldrush players Janet Main and Natalie Smith, who had other playing commitments.
Varsity A now leads the standings with seven wins from eight games. It beat Varsity B in a low-scoring encounter on Tuesday. Vanessa Simpson posted nine points in the 44-26 victory, while Bronwyn Kjestrup and Holly Lloyd added eight points each. Caitlin Glue produced a game-high 10 points for Varsity B.
In the other match, the Falcons had a 82-69 win against Ajax 2. Jody Hope led the way for the Falcons with an impressive haul of 27 points and Tayla McDonald scored 16 points.
Libby van Harselaar (16) and Kate Edwards (15) combined for 31 points for Ajax 2.
